"Power Nine"

This blog is Dedicated to my Siblings....Matthew, Andrew & Allyssa.

My brother Jamie was an AVID golfer.  He got it from my grandpa Caulk. He just loved the game to the fullest. And he was really good at it. Well, being the perfectionist that he is, I'm sure he'd tell you he was just "okay" but I watched and played with him enough that he did more than impress me. …

Our Hope in Christ.

I have just completed "Have Heart, Bridging the Gulf Between Heaven and Earth" and this has been confirmation for me as a Minister as I have been teaching our people concerning the death of a Saint.

I believe that one of the saddest things any human can do is to die without Christ in their lives. The Bible makes it clear. But having a revelation of the fact that a saint is simply asleep and fully aware, as a witness, of our walk as we continue our journey here on this side of…

Does anyone really know how to Grieve?

I haven't posted here in awhile....months.  I told my mom Missy, I would only post when God put something on my heart to write.  He has put things on my heart prior to this moment however; the last few months have been.......there are no words to describe them.  I write this for the people out there that have…

I just ran across your book as a gift attached to e-Sword, and it was a God Nod for me. Tonight, my daughter was asking me about when we get to heaven. I had been studying Revelation, and began to wonder, perhaps, if we actually don't go to Heaven, immediately, because of some passages I was reading.

I was wondering if you could help me understand what it means when the Bible says that Jesus will come back in the clouds, and the dead will be raised first, followed by the saints…

Sometimes God calms the storm. Sometimes he lets the storm rage, and calms his child

I was raised in a Christian home. My parents taught me the Bible, they taught me of God’s love. My dad started and lead a church of over 200 people.

And then..... I hit 16 and became a stubborn, rebellious teenager and then; I ran for years. Ran from God, ran from the church and everything it…

Strength? Amid the confusion, and heartache! ...Here's How....

"Where's the strength to keep my hopes up? What future do I have to keep me going?" Job 6:11

I ended my last post by explaining that my sister Allyssa and I were going to take our first step into the world after the passing of Jamie and attend the Michigan vs. Nebraska game at the Big…

First and 10

It's the "Firsts" that hit hard...

When you've spent 27 years of your life with someone and 13 of those in the same house you've pretty much been anywhere and everywhere with that person at at least one point. You've attended the same…

July 9th 2010 - A day I will Never Forget

Brokenness is painful.  I know that because I'm experiencing complete brokenness now in my life.  I wanted to write again for the last two days. I tried for hours and my heart was so broken, I couldn't find one happy memory that I had with my brother.

Well that's odd?  I have a lifetime with him but not one would come to my mind. This brought even more sadness.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Give thanks in ALL circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ…

Pain - it's emotional

I heard Steve and Sarah on a radio broadcast from Kingdom Bound yesterday.  I am touched by the perspective that they are able to hold onto because of their faith and study of God's word.  Although I have not lost a loved one - the perspective of remembering where my TRUE home is (in the midst of painful life circumstances) is one that God used to help me through what is happening in my life right now!  Thank you for sharing the truth of God's word with me!

Thank you for the book

Even though my husband died 5 years, 7 months and 30 days ago, the pain just started hitting me a couple of months ago when my kids moved out.   I found out about the book "Have Heart" and have read it at least 2 times and so admire/can't believe that you both wrote that book.  It has helped me so much and I hope to pass on many more copies to people who need it.   I also want to thank Rick Cua as I have been down to hell and wanted to stay there and found out I could not talk to my Pastors…

God’s Grace for the Crisis of Faith

“It's impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him.” (Hebrews  11:6 The MSG).  What happens though when we have a crisis of faith – a period in our lives where we don’t stand up in faith but shrink back, not trusting God in a certain situation or place we are in?  Is that the end of our relationship with the Lord – a signal to God that He should…

Thought for the day

"Those we love are with the Lord and the Lord has promised to be with us. If they are with Him and He is with us, they cannot be far away."

A broken heart and crumpled paper

I fully believe that the Lord heals broken hearts as His word promises in Psalm 147:3.  It seems to me though that the healing He brings doesn’t necessarily restore the heart to its exact state before it was broken.  If you’ve experienced a broken heart, you know what I mean.  Suddenly you see things in a new light, you care more about other people’s pain, and you react differently than you had previously to the suffering around us.  Others who haven’t walked that road couldn’t possibly…

Thank Pastor Steve And Sarah

Friends of ours came to Grace Chapel after hearing about the church . After a few times I came with them. We too lost a daughter to an auto accident. I bought the book Have Heart. This was so much help and I have shared it with several people that have lost loved ones. Today especially I realized tha MEREIDTHNIS ALIVE! Living in heaven. What a comfort. Your series on the Sermon on the Mount has triggered so many self studies. Recently while in Centennial Hospital my husband (that lives and… Continue
